Good-bye Boo
Eric | October 19th, 2005 | 2:44 am
We new it was going to happen sooner or later, with the stress on sooner. Boo had been struggling with an over active thyroid (which is why he was always so skinny and high strung). It had been getting a lot worse during the last year and we finally had to put him on medication this Spring. He got better for a while and calmed down a lot, but we knew he didn’t have long.
We just found out from his new Mommy, that he had to be put to sleep. There was a false start a few days ago and he had a reprieve, but it was just for a short time. He had a great life and a long one. He was picked from a litter at a kennel back in 1991. He was always the more aloof cat, and almost anti-social compared to his older buddy Bandit. But he was gentle and cute. We’ll miss him very much.
Thanks to Jodi who has taken care of him and Bandit since we moved from Pittsburgh. It is difficult to have to bond with a pet and then lose them so quickly. We appreciate all that you have done for him and taking great care of Boo to the last.
And for those of you who care, he isn’t named Boo because he is black. His name comes from “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. He shared much in common with the misunderstood, but caring Boo Radley.
We will miss you.

Eric and Angela, So sorry. I have tears in my eyes

So sorry. I have tears in my eyes thinking of this precious little cat. Hope Bandit is doing fine.

Rest in Peace, Boo. He had a good run, with

Back in Kansas City, we intermittently had a Boo Radley cat. He was a rough’n'tumble stray we fed from time to time. He’d show up with half an ear missing, or some other ugly malady. He was alternately very good and very horrid, though his forehead fur was not curly at all. You never knew which Boo you’d get when you came home to him on the porch.

Thanks, Sabine and Joy. He had a great life. Pretty
Eric | October 20th, 2005 | 12:31 amThanks, Sabine and Joy. He had a great life. Pretty much eat and poop, but nirvana for a cat. We hear Bandit is doing fine, which we suspect is because he pretty much bonds with the best lap in the house. It will be interesting to see if he notices Boo not being around after a while. I think Bandit is about 17 now and still going strong. Amazing.
